This course is designed for doctors who have an interest in becoming a ringside doctor. It can either be used to be introduced to the role to decide if it is for you, or if you would like to start working as a ringside doctor on the Amateur Boxing circuit, it will help you to grasp an overview of the topic and set you up for ringside shadowing sessions and completing boxer medicals.
The course is an in-person course, designed to take place over one full day.
There is a lot to get through, so the preparation material includes about half a day of online learning in the week prior to the course related to boxer medicals and the interpretation of the notes and medical sanctions in a boxer's license card.
The course attendees will also benefit on brushing up on some key concepts relating to head injuries, dislocations, nose bleeds and lacerations prior to the day of the course and a reading list of topics will be provided in advance.
